A Five Year

My birthday was yesterday. This as a five year-not a zero year so not AS MUCH of a milestone but I've always felt a five year was a small one along the way. I still have things I want to accomplish so I'd better get busy.

The plan was to take Nurse Betty over to the Mississipp for a spot of birdwatching but the weather was just plain pu-ey so we went over to the Burpee Museum of Natural History to see Jane, the adolescent T-Rex and other delights. I personally like the exhibits of nature's current configurations of foxes.ducks, coyotes, skunks, frogs and the like but to each his own. A click on the title will take the reader over to visit Jane. I bought an excellent book there on Chief Blackhawk with maps I can follow up on with a trip to the location.

Birthday dinner with the Branders and a friend of theirs at the Fairview Restaurant -just an ordinary kind of place that serves big helpings of good old comfort food. If a person goes away hungry from there, it's their own fault. I had fried Perch which I never eat and french fries which I never eat either. To round out the meal, I had a huge piece of German chocolate cake smothered in chocolate syrup.... with a birthday candle. I've been off sweets too as when I eat them then I crave them every day.... IT WAS GOOD. Today it's cottage cheese...

Just talked to Tom Littlefield about putting up gutter covers as some of them are WAY up and I'd have to hire that out. He suggested a Snapper leaf blower that has extensions in case the type he carries won't work on mine... So much to know with owning a house.

The kitties were all there to wake me up this morning so that's present enough for me. Happy.
